Who is this journey for? It is for those who want to see the 3 of the main sites in Nepal in Kathmandu, Pokhara and Chitwan National Park. This is a great extension for those traveling to Tibet or Bhutan.
This 9 day journey, which can be customized to suit you, is perfect for those wanting to see the main sites in Nepal. This journey will begin in Kathmandu by exploring several of the key sites there including Pashupati Temple, Swayambhu "Monkey" Temple, Boudha Stupa and the popular Thamel District. You will also explore the well-preserved ancient city of Bhaktapur, where you can experience traditional Nepal culture in a fantastic setting.
Next, you will fly to southern Nepal to Chitwan National Park, where you will spend 2 days on a wildlife safari. You can see many amazing animals including rhino, crocodiles, deer, monkeys and even tigers! From Chitwan, you will fly to Pokhara, the second largest city in Nepal. Pokhara sits alongside the scenic lake of Fewa and is a fun place to explore. In clear weather, the nearby Himalaya Mountains can be seen from near the lake. In Pokhara, you will go up to Sarangkot to watch the sunrise on the Annapurna section of the Himalayas, visit the Peace Stupa, take a peaceful boat ride on Fewa Lake and explore the lakeside district of the city. This journey will conclude with you flying back to Kathmandu for a final night to explore the unique capital city of Nepal.

9 Day Glimpse of Nepal Journey
NOTE: This itinerary can be customized and modified to suit you
Day 1: Kathmandu, Nepal
Arrival in Kathmandu. Transfer to your hotel. Explore the area in and around Thamel, Kathmandu's main tourist market region.
Day 2: Kathmandu
Full day sightseeing in Kathmandu. Visit the Swayambhu, the famous Monkey Temple, in the morning. Then head to the Pashupati Temple, one of the most sacred Hindu temples in Asia. Then, drive onwards to the Patan Durbar Square. Explore the square and the museum inside the palace before returning to your hotel.
Day 3: Kathmandu Valley
In the morning drive to the ancient Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Walk around the city and explore the historical squares, temples, markets. Then drive to the Bouddhanath Stupa the giant holy pilgrimage site for tourists and people of the Buddhist faith. Each day, thousands of pilgrims come here to walk the ancient pilgrimage circuit around the stupa. Return to your hotel later in the afternoon with more time to explore Thamel on your own.
Day 4: Chitwan National Park
Today you will fly from Kathmandu to Chitwan (15 minute flight). Chitwan National Park is amazing place to view wildlife in a safari setting. You will spend 2 nights here and enjoy sunsets, sunrises and wildlife. You will stay at a nice, highly rated hotel that offers great views of the park.
Day 5: Chitwan National Park
Continue your jungle safari at Chitwan National Park. This package includes, jungle walk, elephant back safari, canoe ride on the Rapti river with birdwatching, visit to the crocodile breeding center. You will see animals like deers, rhinos, monkeys, crocodiles and hopefully, a tiger!
Day 6: Pokhara
Today take a flight from Chitwan to Pokhara (15 minute flight), the largest city in central Nepal. On arrival check into a pleasant, centrally-located hotel. You can then explore the lakeside town by walking along the shores of Fewa Lake and exploring the many interesting markets and shops that are nearby.
Day 7: Pokhara
Today early in the morning, you will drive up to the Sarangkot to see the Annapurna Range panoramic mountain views during sunrise. Its a 30 minute drive uphill and a 15 minute hike to the view point that offers a stunning view of the nearby Himalaya Mountains. You will then drive back to the hotel and have breakfast. The afternoon you will have free by yourself to explore the town of Pokhara. In the evening drive, you'll drive up to the peace Stupa on top a hill enjoy the Himalayan views with panoramic views of the Pokhara valley and Fewa Lake.
Day 8: Kathmandu
Fly back to Kathmandu in the morning. Free day to explore the Thamel area to buy gifts and souvenirs.
Day 9: Depart
Final airport transfer to the airport for departure.

Our 9 day Glimpse of Nepal Journey can be done anytime of year. The best (driest) months to do this journey are from January through May and October through December.

Cost: For the cost for this private journey, let us know the time of year you plan to travel along with the total number of people traveling with you. We do not offer this as a join-in group tour, but only as a private journey.

Travel Gear: Upon joining, each participant will be sent a list of required and recommended gear for this journey that they will be responsible for.
Accommodations: During this journey you will stay in pleasant 3 and 4 star accommodations. If you wish to upgrade to 5 star hotels, we can do that as well.
Meals: Breakfast is included in the price for each morning you are in Nepal. Lunch and dinner are not included in the price.
Eligibility: Participants must be in good health and be able to spend each day walking around towns, villages and monasteries. No trekking is required for this journey. None of this journey takes place at high altitude.
